About Tony Mommsen
Web Design
After seven years of web design for corporate and higher
education I set up my own shop and love it. working for
myself has two primary advantages:
Integrate work and life. .
They did not have to be mutually exclusive. Web design,
cross country skiing, breakfast with my sons, rowing and
canoeing, web design and reading an old Hemingway novel.
They all blend together to make Tony Mommsen Web Design.
When you work with me you get the whole package, all my
experiences in print and web design, marketing and a pretty
balanced view of the world.
A typical work day will be interrupted with
a two hour cross country ski trek with my wife at at Wirth
Park or a cruise in my wooden rowing shell in the Mississippi
River. My day is usually concluded with my high school age
son writing a paper, and me working on something like the
research of competition for a new client. At these times
the office is usually quiet except when I ask his input
on a project that may require a younger eye like selling
racing bikes.
Direct web projects from beginning
to end.
My client's needs and my goals are identical and it is totally
within my control to meet those needs. It is a closed circuit
and you are in the loop. Together we hammer out the primary
message of your site, how your site will be marketed to
increase traffic, whether new photography is appropriate
and how does your printed material dovetail with your web
marketing efforts are elements I am involved with and responsible
for.
Work directly with my clients
One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is my initial
meeting with a new client. Often we meet at their office/facility
so they can show me around. I really enjoy learning about
a new industry whether it's a manufacturer of circuit boards
or wholesaler of high end Italian bicycles. Hearing the
passion of for their business gets me excited. I want to
learn everything about them, their customers and their competition.
I am excited with my journey toward blending
work and life and In the end I would like my office to look
out over some water and possibly a tom cat on the sill watching
a downy woodpecker.
